Zindagi se hum kuch yun mile
Jiase paani me uthte hain bulbule
Kabhi khamosh samandar
ki tarha the hum
To kabhi masoom bacche
ki tarha chulbule
Mile nahin hum kabhi
rahaton ke saye se
Dard apna raha ya gair ka
tanhaiyon me rote hue
bechaniyon ko hum mile
Ab intzaar ki
intehaa hai ho gyi
Mere har ek safar ki
manzil kahin gyi
Kuch to aisa mile
jo mukammal ho
bhale zindagi ke
chand lamhon mein mile

English Translation

What is seen is not the Truth
What is
cannot be said
Trust comes not without seeing
Nor understanding without words
The wise comprehends with knowledge
To the ignorant it is but a
wonder
Some worship the formless God
Some worship His various forms

In what way He is beyond these attributes
Only the Knower knows
That
music cannot be written
How can then be the notes
Says Kabir, awareness
alone will overcome illusion
